EBP Managing Partner, appointed by an Asian commodity-focused venture capital firm as General Manager, led the early-stage development of BAMIN, transforming a portfolio of high-grade mining concessions into what, ten years later, became Brazil's third-largest iron ore producer.
As General Manager, he structured and negotiated the joint venture with the local mining technical specialist team, navigated complex mining legislation, and deployed US$30 million in development capital, increasing the project valuation to US$200 million within 18 months and delivering a high single-digit MOIC for the founding venture capital investor.
The asset was subsequently acquired by Eurasian Resources Group (ENRC), which invested several billion US dollars in large-scale mine development and operations.
